Tratar-se-á tal número, deste instrumento quotidiano, naquele preciso sítio, de:

um facto indesmentível?
um conhecimento estatístico (possivelmente já não actualizado)?
uma aproximação razoável que podemos usar numa conversa?
um palpite de viajante que se interroga?
ou uma mera crença de quem nunca esteve na China?

O que é a realidade, mesma se apenas nos referirmos à «realidade objectiva»?
E como podemos descrever a «realidade subjectiva» e a sua interacção com a «realidade objectiva»??
